Web Experience Toolkit (WET)

Roles and responsibilities

There are a number of sub-projects that will be worked on collaboratively by the WET project. Each sub-project working group may have one or more leads in addition to unlimited members.

GC and non-GC communities

  • review and beta test sub-projects, providing feedback to sub-project leads

Sub-project leads

  • coordinate activities of sub-project members
  • maintain the sub-project membership list
  • develop timelines and coordinate sub-project reviews
  • respect licenses of 3rd party components
  • ensure all components can be distributed under the MIT license or a MIT-compatible license
  • report on progress to GC Web standards Office and highlight challenges

Sub-project members

  • ensure they can contribute sufficient time to the sub-project and have a relevant skill-set
  • fully disclose all copyright and licensing restrictions on their contributions
  • take direction from the sub-project lead

Core working groups

  • review and beta test sub-projects, providing feedback to sub-project leads

GC Web Standards Office (formerly the CLF Office)

  • coordinate sub-project leads and chair sub-project leads meetings,
  • provide status updates to Web Managers Council and CIO Council that highlight:
    • WET and sub-project progress,
    • individual and departmental contributions, and
    • challenges (e.g., resource issues, technology limitations)
